Diploma Supplement

The Diploma Supplement is a new document which is issued free of charge with the diploma to graduates of bachelor or master study programmes of VŠB-TUO.

Graduates of VŠB-TUO received the Diploma Supplement for the first time in the academic year of 2003/2004. This bilingual document summarizes in Czech and in English data regarding study programmes including a printout of all executed exams and achieved results. Its structure complies with unified outline defined by the European Commission, European Council and UNESCO/CEPES organization.

The Diploma Supplement helps to communicate to future employers of graduates of the university study content, level and position of passed study programmes; it contributes to the proper academic and professional recognition of the gained qualification. It also contains a description of the Czech school system.

VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava was the first university in the Czech Republic which freely issued a Diploma Supplement to all graduates. In accordance with conclusions of the Ministry Conference in Berlin 2004 all higher education institutions shall issue a Diploma Supplement, beginning in 2005.
