VŠB-TUO is a modern institution of higher education which provides tertiary education in technical and economic sciences. VŠB-TUO offers a wide range of study programmes and courses in bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral level to foreign students.
At VŠB-TUO, we believe it is important to reach out and assist international students who are considering coming to VŠB-TUO for their education. VŠB-TUO is nice place not only to study, but also to meet people from around the world and make new friends. Today more than 1270 foreign students study at VŠB-TUO, a number that is rising every year, indicating the increasing demand for study here by students from abroad.
The quality of study programmes at VŠB-TUO is equal to those of western Europeans universities. However fees for these study programmes are much lower and moreover living expenses in Ostrava are very reasonable. Come to Ostrava to convince yourself!!!

Information for students wanting to get a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral diploma at our university in English. VŠB-TUO offers an increasing number of study programmes in English.
Students from an Erasmus partner university can study for a semester or the whole academic year, in selected courses at VŠB-TUO without charge. The European Credit Transfer System, which has been implemented at VŠB-TUO, enables foreign students to obtain credits for these courses after return to their home university.
This programme offers opportunity for students from partner universities outside Erasmus cooperation to study at VŠB-TUO and then return to their home institution to obtain their degree. Exchange Students from our partner universities will pay their regular tuition fee to the home institution only. No tuition fee will be charged by VŠB-TUO.
VŠB-TUO can grant the Georgius Agricola Scholarship to students who can not prosper from international exchange programmes, especially those from the third countries. This scholarship is not pretension but is granted by the Board of the Georgius Agricola Scholarship to students coming to VŠB-TUO for a short-term study stay lasting from one to five months according to actual university priorities.
